Labour Manager | Location Plymouth / Exeter & working in the South West

My client is a Leading brand name in the supply of personnel to the Construction industry. They are seeking a Labour Manager to oversee a team of resources delivering blue collar personnel to key construction projects across the South West. As the Labour Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, selection, and deployment of skilled labourers for various construction projects. Your primary goal will be to ensure the availability of a qualified and efficient workforce to meet project requirements. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the construction industry and labour market. This role requires in-house experience working with construction / civil engineering workforce, predominantly with blue-collar.

This is a busy regional position with the need to visit multiple sites in the South West.

Responsibilities:

• Working with Works Managers / Foreman to identify, support and plan for forthcoming resource requirements.

• Focus on client facing activities, building, and developing strong working relationships with Works Managers and Foreman and management through the Projects.

• Driving workforce optimisation – ensuring the right people, with the right competencies are deployed at the right location.

• Supporting the Training and Development Team, with managing the re-certification, upskilling, and development of the workforce.

• Working closing with senior management and executives to drive the strategic goals of the business.

• Attend site and major projects to determine the suitability of resources for each different section of the project and identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.

• Working with projects to implement onboarding and induction processes to ensure efficient deployment of resources. 

 

The successful applicant will have:

• Proven labour/workforce recruitment and management experience (in-house or Agency)

• Full UK Driving licence

• Familiar with Civil Engineering, Construction competences
