Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer to work for global manufacturing operative based in the Heanor (DE75) area.

About the Client

What is in it for you?

• Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm 
• Hybrid working after complition of training 
• £30,000 to £35,000, paid on a weekly basis
• Immediate start available
• 12 month contract 

The Job:

• To ensure all import and export activities comply with UK control laws, international regulations and company policies 
• Prepare and review export documentation - this includes licenses, shipping documents and customs declarations 
• To work closely with the logistics, sales, procurement and finance teams 
• Conduct regular audits 
• Provide training and support to staff 
• To identify potential risks and to develop strategies to overcome them 
• Act as a point of contact for internal/external customers, suppliers and regulation authorities 
• Maintain accurate records off all the import and export transactions and complaince activites 

About You:

• A Bachelor's degree in Internal Trade, Business Administration or a related field or a professional qualification in Export Compliance 
• A minimum of 3 years experience in Import and Export Compliance 
• A strong understanding of UK Import and Export control laws and international trade regulations
• Experience with Import and Export compliance softwares and tools 
• Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and written and verbal skills
