As a Construction Environmental Advisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring E&S excellence on this clients sites across the South West. This fantastic opportunity is based in Bristol, with site visits in Devon & Cornwall.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure compliance of works with Construction Code of Practice and other environmental requirements
  • Development of EMS documentation and systems
  • Development of environmental works solutions/mitigation and monitoring regimes
  • Roll out of systems to ensure construction methodologies and programme meet Environmental Minimum Requirements
  • Management of Environmental Opportunities and Risks, updating of register and progressing selected opportunity actions
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders and client representatives to ensure collaborative working relationships
  • Understand the financial implications of decisions affecting environmental issues (e.g. waste costs, delays.) and seek to ensure best financial outcome for business
  • Promote environmental awareness on the project through training, briefings, poster campaigns and other communication methods
  • Report on the site's environmental performance against the Project's objectives and targets
  • Manage and oversee monitoring equipment, collect, process and interpret data (e.g. water, dust, noise, waste)
  • Manage onsite Environmental Site inspections
  • Liaises with the community liaison officer regarding complaints from third parties on noise, dust and or other environmental issues Experience Required
  • A sound understanding of environmental legislation and principles of environmental management systems
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skills

 

Person Specific:

  • On-site experience within the Construction Industry
  • A formal environmental qualification
  • Other formal Health, Safety or Environmental, training or auditing qualifications would be advantageous but not essential
  • Must have a full driving licence
  • Be a good communicator, self-motivated and ambitious to succeed
  • Be willing to take ownership of workload
