Overview

Our client in the Romford area is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Assistant to join their team. The Health & Safety Assistant will support the organisation's health and safety initiatives, promoting a positive culture in an educational setting to meet legal requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to gain experience in health and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
  • Investigate accidents and near misses
  • Support the development of health and safety training materials
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Coordinate health and safety training programmes
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations and best practises
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software
  • Certification or training in health and safety is a plus

Day-to-day

  • Conduct safety inspections and report findings
  • Assist in developing safety training materials
  • Collaborate with various departments to address health and safety concerns
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities

 

  • Salary range: £30,000 - £33,000
