Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are currently seeking an Inventory Controller / Checker on behalf of a leading manufacturing company.

This role will involve performing and monitoring daily pre-inventory checks across two sites, using a computer to gather and re-input data accurately. The individual will be responsible for ensuring returned stock from production is correctly recorded and investigating any discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily pre-inventory checks using a laptop to gather stock information and input findings accurately
• Conduct stock checks on items returned from production the previous day, ensuring quantities and condition are correct
• Report any anomalies or discrepancies to the Stock Supervisor or relevant manager for resolution
• Ensure the smooth operation of inventory management across both sites, maintaining accurate stock levels
• Utilise Excel spreadsheets to track and report inventory data
• Monitor and manage stock movements to ensure efficiency and prevent errors
• Maintain accurate records of all stock transactions, following company procedures and best practices
• Forklift truck operation required – previous experience is advantageous, but training will be provided if necessary

Skills and Experience Required:

• Strong IT skills, with a good understanding of Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Previous experience in inventory control or stock checking, preferably in a manufacturing setting
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Hours and Pay:

Monday – Thursday 9am-5pm & Friday 9am-2pm (must be flexible to production requirements, may be asked to stagger start & finish times when needed)

£12.64 per hour pay, increasing to £13.18 per hour after 6 months
