Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location:Guildford, Surrey
Thorn Baker has teamed up with their distinguished fit-outclient for leading companies in the hospitality, leisure, and retail sectors who is looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor.
Established 20 years ago, with a commitment to excellence, this company specializes in transforming pubs, clubs, restaurants, hotels, and shops into visually stunning and high-performing establishments.
This role is perfect for a professional based in Surrey who has gained experience with a fit-out contractor in London and now desires a position closer to home as the role is office-based with site visits, reporting to the business directors at their Guildford headquarters.

Your Responsibilities:
- Cost Planning and Estimation: Prepare initial cost plans, budgets, and estimates.
- Procurement: Manage the procurement process, including tendering and subcontractor negotiations.
- Contract Administration: Oversee all contract administration tasks, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
- Valuations: Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial and contractual risks.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Variation Management: Manage and value project variations.
- Reporting: Provide regular financial reports to the project management team and directors.
- Client Relationship Management: Ensure timely and clear communication with clients regarding financial matters.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all site personnel operate safely and cooperatively.
- Business Development: Assist Directors with securing new project opportunities through accurate and competitive pricing.
Required Skills:
- Experience working with large organizations is essential and quantity surveying experience, particularly in managing fit-out projects up to £2m
- Detail-oriented and proactiveteam player, with a positive attitude and practical approach
- Continuous learner who proactively seeks to learn and influence others
- Excellent communication skills are required to engage positively with clients
