Job description
Thorn Baker has teamed up with a Local Heritage and High End contractor working on Commercial and Residential projects who are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join their small, tight knit team.
Working on a variety of projects from high end commercial spaces to bespoke one of a kind residential projects.

Your Responsibilities:
- Establish a good client working relationship throughout the life of a project and deliver excellent customer service
- Ensuring work is delivered to the required quality, in a cost-effective way
- Ensuring the delivery of the project to the agreed programme, using weekly monthly and daily schedules.
- Organise trades in advance to work in a logical and efficient manner
- To organise the start date for subcontractors and ensure they are working efficiently
- Order materials with sufficient lead times to ensure consistency of workflow
- To provide technical solutions to issues arising on site
- To keep good site records including signing in and out, site instructions, timesheets and materials purchased
- To provide site inductions and manage health and safety on site
- To provide the client with regular updates on progress and notify them of decisions regarding major issues
- Attend client project progress meetings ensuring that all actions are completed on time and presenting updated reports that identify both programme and quality status
- Provide technical guidance to the team and answer any queries they may have
Required Skills:
- Lead the site delivery team and achieve the project goals set by both the client and the business
- Able to provide technical solutions to both design and delivery issues that may arise
- Demonstrate strong communicative skills both at a professional and technical level
- Have a sound and broad technical knowledge of construction and core trades
- Well-read in current Construction industry thinking and trends
- Understand the High-End Residential and Commercial Sectors and its specific demands
- Current industry knowledge of: Build solutions & Legislative practice (technical & H&S)
