Tool Room Engineer

Job description

Our client is seeking a skilled Tool Room Engineer to join their technical and maintenance teams. This is a part-time role, with the possibility of becoming full-time for the right candidate. In this position, you will be responsible for servicing, cleaning, and maintaining injection moulding tools, as well as producing and repairing precision tools and parts for use in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain, service, and repair injection moulding tools and precision parts.
• Work with a variety of materials, including metals, alloys, plastics, and ceramics.
• Create and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
• Collaborate with the team on new projects and machinery.
• Ensure all work meets required quality standards (e.g., BRCGS, FDA) and complies with health and safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine breakdowns.

Skills & Experience:
• Experience in tool maintenance and precision machining.
• Proficient in using measurement instruments (e.g., micrometres, gauges, callipers).
• Ability to read technical drawings and operate hand/powered tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
