Thorn Baker and Constructing Excellence Midlands recently hosted a successful football tournament in Studley, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors of the construction industry for an evening of football, networking, and fun. The event was designed to strengthen relationships within the industry in an informal and fun setting.

Ted Grizzell, Regional Manager at Thorn Baker Construction, and an active Committee member of Constructing Excellence Midlands, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "It was great to bring together stakeholders from across various different sectors of the construction industry and take the opportunity to enjoy the theme of collaboration in a fun environment away from our day-jobs. I am passionate about providing far more than just efficient, thorough recruitment partnerships. For me, it is vital to embed relationships with those across all sectors of the industry as partners. To do this, it's about working closely together and enjoying each other's company outside of the office or site."

The tournament saw participation from leading industry players, including representatives from the Residential sector (Persimmon Homes), Construction/Main Build/Fitout (Marshdale Construction), Design Consultancy (Arup), and Energy/M&E (Dalkia). This diverse representation highlighted the event's focus on uniting different facets of the construction industry.

Ted further emphasised the importance of such events, saying, "My role with Constructing Excellence and at Thorn Baker go hand in hand to support the industry and use good practice to drive positive change. The event was a huge success, and I will definitely be looking to run it again. Thanks to all those that got involved by playing, sponsoring, organising, and donating."
